I write to you to express what pain you have caused me. I didn't think it would turn out like this. Before we arrived at the point of no return, I believed you were my friend. I was clearly wrong because I know a friend wouldn't hurt a friend the way you hurt me. The betrayel was devastating and the loss of respect shattered and cut so deep I had to face our reality, my reality. I don't know if time heals all but I'm striving to be a better person. I was young and realize that our problems were both of ours but your decisions were truly yours alone. I've forgiven you and hope that you have forgiven me as well. Dueces

1. Ask yourself, What do I want to be doing at 40?
2. Make a plan and work it. You can tweak it along the way.
3. Reach out. You don't have to do it alone. We're here for you.
4. Save a little bit every week, even a single dollar.
5. Don't accept negative things people say about you. If they have an observation, tell them to make it constructive.
6. You are responsible for your actions.
7. Video dancer is not a profession.
8. Be aware of the ways pop culture may try to diminish you.
9. Be patient with people's short comings but not their bad behavior.
10. Know that you can love someone and still walk away.
11. Any job is better than no job. It's not forever. It's merely a stepping-stone.
12. Any man is not better than no man.
13. Men think about sex a lot. What's on your mind?
14. Whatever you dream there is already a Black Woman who has already done it.
15. You can do it, too.
A good woman is proud. She respects herself & others. She is aware of who she is. She niether seeks definition from the person she's with, nor does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs.
A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value & must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted it soons disapear.
A good woman has a dash of inspiration & a dabble of endurance. She knows that she will have to inspire others to reach the potential God gave them.
A good woman knows her past, understands her present & forces toward the future.
A good woman does not live in fear of the future because of her past. Instead, she understands that her life experiences are merely lessons meant to bring her closer to self-knowledge & unconditional self-love.
Striving to be A Good Woman.
I apologize black woman for not being true from the start, for running away from you, leaving a hole in your heart. For ignoring your feelings & pushing them aside, because I was arrogant & pumped with pride.
I apologize for making promises I couldn't keep, for building a foundation on trechery & deceit.Being selfish & inconsiderate, I did what I wanted to do,without thinking of you.
I apologize for not holding you through restless nights and stormy days, for my foolish thoughts & immature ways.Instead of carrying your love with me, I just threw it on the shelf, after we made love I turned away, only thinking of myself. You cried your heart for me, while I was out running wild & loose, I destroyed the essence of your love with physical, mental, & emotional abuse.I gave you hell black woman by giving up when times got rough, I didn't slap you, push you, I neglected you-& that's bad enough! Now I see why you build a wall around yourself, it is me you despise, but that's the price that I have to pay for all the times I wore a diguise.I pray to God that one day you will realize, that I LOVE YOU BLACK WOMAN & I APLOLOGIZE.
Apology accepted Black Man
Just because no one has been smart enough to figure out that you can't be topped, doesn't stop you from being the best.
Just because no one has come along to share your life, doesn't mean that day isn't coming.
Just because no one has made this race worthwhile, doesn't give you permision to stop running.
Just because no one has realized how much of an awesome woman you are, doesn't mean they can affect your femininity.
Just because no one has came along to take the loneliness away, doesn't mean you have to settle for lower quality.
Just because no one has shown up to love you on your level, doesn't mean you have to sink to theirs.
Just because you deserve the very best there is, doesn't mean that life is always fair.
Just because God is still preparing your king, doesn't mean that you're not already a queen.
Just because your situation doesn't seem to be progressing right now, doesn't mean you need to change a thing.
Keep runningKeep hoping
Keep being exactly what you already are;
If a child lives with hostility. He learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule. He learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame. He learns to feel guilty.
If achild lives with tolernace. He learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement. He learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise. He learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness. He learns justice.
If a child lives with security. He learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval. He learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship. He learns to find love in the world.
How is your child living and what will he learn?

“I dare you to move / Like today never happened before” – Switchfoot
I don’t think we take enough advantage of new days. Think about it. Whether you noticed or not, you got a second chance this morning. You were given another 24 hours to make the most out of your life, to right any wrongs and move forward despite any setbacks that came your way. New days are by far the best gifts we can receive in this lifetime.
“Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
This verse perfectly illustrates why new days are awesome. Not only are we given a second shot at life, we get to heal up from whatever hurt us yesterday. That’s where the joy comes in. Bad day at the office? Fight with the spouse? Made a huge mistake? Tomorrow, you can let it go and start fresh. That thought alone is enough to make you happy in the morning.
“It’s a brand new day / For the first time / In such a long, long time / I know I’ll be okay” – Joshua Radin
Every new day gives you a chance to shift your perspective. You can change your thoughts from negative to positive. If you were down and out yesterday, today you can be an optimist and believe that things will turn around. And no matter how you fail or fall short today, guess what? You’ve got another chance to make it right tomorrow.
My friends, this is the only October 23, 2011, that there will ever be. Once it’s over, it’s gone for good. So, live it as though it’s never happened before and won’t happen again.

*A quarter way through BHG, I read 25 Ways To Declutter for the New Year. 21 suggests you pare down your linen closet to 3 towels per person, two sets of sheets per bed, plus an extra set for guests. As I write out each suggestion I become inspired to apply #21 ASAP. I immediatly get up and purge through my linens. Leavng my family with 12 towels and 5 sheet sets between my boys and extra bed and let the rest go. I enourage my boys to eliminate trash, dirty clothes and their sheets in a 30 minute time frame. Voila!!! Mission accomplished. Have a janitorial size trash bag full of linens and clothes ready to be dropped in a clothes bin for charity.

When you get what you want in your struggle for self and the world makes you king for a day, then go to the mirror and look at yourself and see what that guy has to say.
For it isn't your mother, brother or friends whose judgment you must pass.
The person whose verdict counts most in your life is the one staring back in the glass.
You can go sown the pathway of years reciving pats on the back as you pass,
but your final reward will be heartaches and tears if you cheated that guy in the glass.
It is about the Journey not the Outcome!

Special thanx to my girl Tricia,
I received this mag at my girls Christmas Social. It was such a fitting gift, since I'm a magazine junkie. I've tried many times and strategies to break my addiction. I've set the rule that I must read the mag cover to cover which I do. I've tried limiting myself with subscriptions only to find myself talking to myself in the check out line regarding another mag. purchase. I've created a journal using mags and would like to have a mag club vs. the book club group. Now my goal is to at least apply what I've learned from any given mag & blog about it. So here is my first shot at blogging about a mag I've read cover to cover.
- Beginning with words from the Editor, she began with the question- "How Do You Feel About Change?" She implied that most of us settle for the "If It's Not Broke Don't Fix It." syndrome. Although our situation may not be "Broken" exactly how well is it working? Is our level of satisfaction with our lives for example; Great, Fair or Barely Maintaining? To answer the first question for myself "Change is easier when you don't fight it." Answering the next question I must say that my life ain't broke, but I'm striving for my greatest self and life.
- So glad to see housewives of athletes who are not desperate. 31yrs. old, Dr. Roselyn M. Smith received her Doctorates of Philosophy in Biological Engineering from University of Missouri-Columbia. Today she is a scientific advisor in intellectual property law and a volunteer research scientist in a neonatal intensive care unit of a local hospital. She is married to Bradley Smith of New York Jets. Truly a Sista worth reppin for.
- IF You Can't Seem To Get Over Him- Go all the way & clean out your life of everything that is his. Keeping his stuff, keeps him around while keeping others out.
